How many people take part in the projects?
About 100...
When do your social action projects take place?
3rd - 5th May Bank Holiday Weekend
What will you be doing?
We are a group of several local churches working together planning several activities across Bedford, including painting a subway often used by young people to hang out in at night, a free car wash and a free garden tidying/makeover service for local residents. If we've got any people/energy left after that, then we'll try and fit in a bit of litter picking too!
Any inspiring stories:
We did a similar thing last week (31st March-3rd April) with about 20 people, and picked up 24 bags of litter and washed 73 cars with free tea and coffee at the car wash. No-one could believe that we really were doing this for free, and deliberately refusing tips at the car wash!
Prayer requests:
Pray that more churches would get involved and that more people would want to too. Pray that barriers between churches would be broken and that it wouldn't be seen as just a 'young person's' thing, but that the whole church would get involved too.
