What happened?
We did the weekend it was amazing we had quite a high public profile and we really learnt loads from it. I think the best thing for everyone was when we got evicted! The new site we moved to we were allowed a bonfire and so we all sat round it and kept warm and a member of the public came and brought us hot butter bean soup and sausages and potato and our youth worker said at first we weren't allowed it but eventually gave in when everyone was pleading for it so that was great ordinary food never tasted so good and the worst things were probably having to move because we'd just set up our home and were beginning to get comfy in it then we had to move and it was so depressing it was just like you can't do this this is our home.
Another thing was we were doing it not on our church land but on the main road and we had street pastors doing security and we still found it hard to sleep.
There were 11 youth from 11-16 and two adults. Things we learnt were just how much we did have even in the slum to make it safe and be able to do it we were a posh slum and it was like most slum dwellers don't even have sleeping bags.
The community have responded very well to it and we had quite a lot of people come to see us. The police came quite a lot to check up on us they were great and they even want to do it with some of the local young people. On the monday we had our outreach club and we let them build slums inside out of chairs and tables and they really enjoyed it and changed some of the challenges to make them into games and they really learnt a lot from it too.
