We wanted to raise awareness for those people who live in slums and the homeless in our own country. So we contacted a local charity (Andover Food Bank) and had our event to coincide with the start of homelessness week. We had our 24 hour Slum survivor event on Saturday 31st January starting at 9.30am with registration. Our day looked like this:
               
10:00 - Slum Building 
11.30 - Banner making and Busking collect money for Andover food bank
1.30 - Lunch of lentils
2.00 - Bible Study 1/ pause for thought. We're made in Gods image...
2.45 - Demolition Challenge 
3.30 -Bible Study 2/ pause for thought. Living in an unequal world...
4.15 - Crime Challenge 
5.30 - Talk from Trevor of Andover Food Bank
6.00 - Dinner
7.00 - Bible Study 3/ pause for thought. Why Jesus came...
7.45 - Scrap Challenge. Make a football and knockout. 
8.30 - Bible Study 4 / pause for thought. How can we play our part?  
Free time/film

Sunday
7.30am - Pack up
8.30 - Worship Service including pictures of the day before
9:00 -Breakfast of bacon rolls 
9:30 - Depart and talk about the event in your church

All money raised will be sent to Soul Action and the Andover Food Bank. We had a great response from passers by and the homeless living in the area. It seemed to have a huge impact on some people.
