Red Light is an anti-human trafficking initiative based at The Rock Christian Church in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. They exist to create awareness locally and link with like-minded organisations. In identifying the social injustice of Human Trafficking and discovering the lack of awareness in their communities, Red Light felt the compelling need to create more awareness amongst women, men and children, particularly amongst those communities most at risk of becoming a victim to Human Trafficking due to their social and economic circumstances.
In creating awareness, Red Light hopes to make individuals more aware of the dangers of Human Trafficking and their respective risk of becoming a victim. This will assist in reducing the number of victims as individuals will be more alert to lures provoked by perpetrators of Human Trafficking and will be better equipped to protect themselves and their families.
Red Light also has an outreach program called “Night Lights” ministering in the red light districts and another called ”Create Freedom” working with women at risk and survivors of human trafficking in creating economic opportunities.
- Please pray for the ladies they are working with and those God will add next year.
- For wisdom and discernment and His leading for the things they need to focus on and that which is not what He has called them to.
- Pray also that the project becomes self sustaining and that they would have enough funding to pay staff and not rely only on volunteers.
