If you’re 16-25, have an idea about how you’d like to make a positive change in your community then Soul Action Your Change is designed for you.  We’re looking to fund small youth-led creative projects aimed at making a difference within a community.

Soul Action Your Change could give you a grant of up to £2500 to design and run your own community project.  The money will come from the Soul Survivor collection at the 2010 events & will be voted for by the delegates.

Your change will fund projects that:

1) Are designed and created from individuals linked to a local church, youth-led – you must be 16-25 yrs
2) Take place in the United Kingdom
3) Clearly benefit a chosen community – this could be where you live, where you spend most your time or a group of people you’d like to help
4) Are either a new idea or something you’ve done in the past and would like to try again
5) Cost £2500 or less – and clearly show you’re spending the money wisely

Your Change will not fund:

1) Applications from organisations
2) Projects that are already existing and are seeking funding to continue
3) Projects that involve raising funds e.g. charging participants to take part, selling goods or services or raising funds for other charities (apart from Soul Action), organisations or activities

To apply for Your change funding you must be:

1) Aged between 16-25 on the deadline of application
2) Linked to a local church
3) Prepared to run your project as a volunteer (without getting paid). 
4) The main contact person for the project.  If you need support from a youthworker or other professional it’s important they tell us how they’ll make sure that you stay in charge of the project.
5) Available to attend the Soul Survivor festivals in 2010

The deadline for applications is Friday 26 February 2010

The selection process for Your Change grants willl look like this:
Selection process:

1) Once your application has been received you will be sent an acknowledgement email.

2) When the deadline has passed all projects will be looked at by a panel of experts & a shortlist will be made.

3) Successful applicants will be invited to a selection day where you will have the opportunity to pitch your idea to the panel.

4) If you are successful you will be invited to attend one of the Soul Survivor 2010 events where your idea will be pitched to all those attending in a main meeting.

5) Delegates will vote on the project they would like to fund & grants will be allocated accordingly up to the sum of £2500.
